The Narva Venice summer art residencies competition has been successfully completed and we are ready to share the results with you.
In the month of May, with the support of the British Council, we decided to make an open competition to find two art residents to spend the summer in the unique Narva commune – Kulgu, also called Narva Venice. The competition attracted 50 amazing entries from all over the world. The jury, which included Andres Härm, Diana Tamane, Johanna Rannula and members of the board of the Kulgu Boating Association, selected two projects that not only showcase their art, but also create something necessary and special for the Kulgu area.
The winners of the competition were
Maurin Bisig (Switzerland, www.maurin-bisig.ch) and
Enrique Roura (Mexico/Norway,www.enriqueroura.com).
Maurin will create large-scale wood sculptures and Enrique will create a bread oven for Kulgu.
