Talking, showing, making, eating
23rd to 24th of November, Joala 18, Narva
NART is opening its doors for a whole weekend of events hosted by the three current artists-in-residence from Chile, Iceland and Belgium. Come and share art, conversation, food, and hands-on activities to connect with them and other art-lovers. The series of events is free and open to everyone.
For those who come to Narva from far and want to stay for the whole weekend, we can offer accommodation in NART dormitories for Saturday night. Write to residentuur@artun.ee for more information.
Saturday 23rd:
15:00 Workshop “How to make a bomb at home”
Chilean artist Josefina talks about teargas awareness and gives participants a DIY bath bomb experience. A bath bomb is a cosmetic product which reacts effervescently when coming into contact with water.
17:00 Behind the scenes and screening of animation sketches from Narva
Icelandic animator Rakel presents a newly created animation experiment inspired by her time in Narva. She uses traditional techniques like hand-drawn 2D animation and stop-motion. Rakel will also share insights into her process, offering a glimpse behind the scenes.
18:00 Performative dinner hosted by Andries
Andries de Lange initiated an open, collective cooking experiment using dough, raw vegetables, and fire. Participants are invited to interact and co-create the dinner throughout the evening outdoors near a bonfire. You’re invited to bring and exchange old tableware like cups, glasses, or other objects.
Sunday 24th:
13:00 Collective waffles
Join us to have a snack at the cozy NART kitchen and make your own waffle.
14:00 Ritual excursion at Kreenholm: The Tables of Conscience
