Join artists Kristiin Hanimägi and Joel Freeman for an interactive tour of their camera obscura installation in Kreenholm’s Joala factory. Making use of window alcoves and darkened rooms, their obscuras project the outdoor landscape onto ephemeral surfaces — a dusty glass pane, a discarded plastic bag, a curtain of gardening fabric. They bring to the project a combined interest in photography and heritage and, with these obscuras, document Kreenholm’s tenuous present. In the tour, Kristiin and Joel will discuss their process, demonstrate the workings of these analogue projections, and lead a workshop in how to make a camera obscura of your own.
