The artist Pavel Rotts invites everyone to create unique hand-made bricks as part of a durational performance at his exhibition “The Matter of Touch.” You will have the opportunity to make your own family brick with initials or an imprint of an object that is meaningful to you.
The installation presented in the gallery will continuously evolve as people will mold new bricks from the heap of clay contained in the gallery space. In May, at the end of the exhibition, the bricks will be fired outdoors.
For the exhibition, the artist has focused on bombing craters left on the walls of Narva, which have been there for 80 years, working as a constant reminder of the war. Casting the holes left by the bombs and making new sculptural replacements, Pavel Rotts creates the opportunity to touch the absent parts of the architecture.
Places are limited! Please register here: https://forms.gle/gm3HaMSaeRmTRxYy7
