Bianca Hisse and Laura Cemin

Bianca Hisse and Laura Cemin both operate at the intersection of visual art, performance and choreography. They are interested in the relation between language and movement, and through them, they explore the production of meanings, patterns and choreographies of social life, as well as how body and environment are continuously intertwined. Bianca Hisse is based in Oslo, Norway and Laura Cemin is based in Helsinki, Finland.

At NART, they were developing a group performance on how labour, migration and cultural tourism manifest through movement. Referencing street signs, advertisement aesthetics and political gestures in the contemporary context, performers use LED scrolling signs to explore relationships between bodies, objects and language.
