Agnieszka Gratza
01.09 – 18.09.2020
Agnieszka Gratza is an itinerant writer, critic and live artist. A Renaissance cultural historian by training, during her residency at NART she will be working on a project dealing with Estonian attitudes toward witchcraft and magic. Drawing on the notion of “social haunting” elaborated by sociologist Avery Gordon, she will examine its relevance in the instance of a local witch trial that took place in Narva in 1615, involving a woman called Birgitta, who hailed from Finland.
